Bai Rui Xiang (百瑞香), meaning “White Winter Daphne or 1,000 Luxurious Fragrances” is another Wuyi Pinzhong oolong with a complex and sophisticated aroma. It has an especially pungent white-flower aroma, which is balanced by a pronounced roast character with a strong mineral-driven aftertaste. As with most of the more modern varietals of Wuyi oolongs, the Bai Rui Xiang has a unique fragrance and complex taste, with balanced floral, spice, earth, and sweet-nut components. This is a unique tea which is rarely imported in the West, it should be enjoyable to fans of Chinese oolongs looking to delve deeper into the genre.
