Made from stone-grinding fine Spring green tea into a fine powder, Matcha is integral to ancient Japanese tea culture and enjoys worldwide popularity today. Before the invention of loose-leaf tea during China’s song dynasty, all tea was generally consumed in powdered form as the shavings from tea bricks. The Japanese imported and heavily ritualized powdered tea into what we now know as Matcha tea.

Our A grade matcha is freshly stone-ground and imported directly from Japan. It is only one step below ceremonial-grade, and can be enjoyed in steamed milk as a matcha latte or traditionally in a chawan.
