Join us for an evening reading with poets Michael Henry & Juan J. Morales from Lighthouse Writers. Michael Henry is the author of, most recently, Gun Poems from Middle Creek Publishing, a collection that personifies the gun as a trickster figure, all too present in our day-to-day. Juan Morales’s most recent book, The Handyman’s Guide to End Times, was the winner of the International Latino Book Award.

About Michael Henry:

Michael Henry is co-founder and Executive Director of Lighthouse Writers Workshop, the largest independent literary arts center in the Rocky Mountain west. He is the author of three books of poetry and a nonfiction book, Mountain Biking the Colorado Trail, and has received fellowships from the Colorado Council on the Arts, PlatteForum, and a Livingston Fellowship from the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation. 

About Juan J. Morales:

Juan J. Morales (he/him) is the son of an Ecuadorian mother and Puerto Rican father and the author of four poetry collections, including Dream of the Bird Tattoo and The Handyman’s Guide to End Times. Morales has received fellowships from CantoMundo, Macondo, Longleaf Writers Conference, and he has served as the editor/publisher of Pilgrimage Press. Recent poems have appeared in Verse Daily, The Slowdown Podcast, High Plains Pueblo Radio, and Inscape. He lives in Pueblo, Colorado, teaches for Lighthouse Writers in Denver, and is an Assistant Professor of English at Colorado College.
