Trident Author Series: Alex Snider, in conversation with Emily Loker

  • Trident Booksellers & Cafe 940 pearl street Boulder, CO 80302 USA (map)

Alex Snider is a writer, speaker, and facilitator who designs experiences that help people slow down and see themselves and others more clearly. His debut book, Sometimes You Should Be Late, is about moving through time with more intention where we center our values not the clock.

He draws on 15 years in public service, including as a diplomat and in domestic policy roles, along with certifications and a decade of practicing and facilitating meditation and group processes. He is the co-founder of Mindful Fed, a cross-government mindfulness community, and writes the Substack Slow Mindfulness. His work has appeared in a variety of publications, including Psychology Today.

You can find him in Washington, DC, with his squirrel-obsessed husky mix, Walnut, and at slowmindfulness.com.

Joining Alex in conversation on Sometimes You Should Be Late, will be Emily Loker.

Emily Loker is a community engagement leader, researcher, and holistic coach who helps people and institutions reconnect with what matters most — whether that's a community's voice in the clean energy transition or a person's own inner wisdom.
She currently leads community engagement for Power Ahead Colorado, a federally funded program expanding access to heat pumps and home decarbonization, and runs A Room Of Your Own Coaching, a trauma-aware practice rooted in the alignment of mind, body, and soul.

She draws on over a decade of experience across government, academia, and nonprofit work, including a PhD in Communication from the University of Colorado Boulder and roles supporting equity efforts at the Department of Energy and NASA.

You can find her in Colorado, and at aryocoaching.com
