This is a surprising and complex tea made from an exceedingly rare tea varietal grown in only a single garden near Darjeeling. More spice-forward than traditional varietals, the long twisted tea leaves yield a brew which suggests honeydew melon, ghee, white pepper, and almond syrup. Not your grandpa’s Darjeeling, this tea represents a step forward for the already famous tea growing region. Fans of Darjeelings as well as traditional oolongs from China and Taiwan take note, this is an endlessly complex and unique tea which we might not see again anytime soon.
