The farmers at Rohini Estate have been refining their whole-leaf oolong processing skills for several years now, and we have been lucky enough to receive this very fine lot as a result of our long standing relationship with the estate. This Christmas-day harvested oolong is a complex and enjoyable brew which stands shoulder to shoulder with the higher grade oolongs of China and Taiwan. It was given a relatively light oxidation, and was masterfully rolled and withered. It has a pronounced floral aroma, thick, buttery mouthfeel, and hints of ripe melon. Somewhat closer in taste to a first flush Darjeeling, it should please Darjeeling fans looking for something gong-fu appropriate.
